This captivating land-and-sea journey reveals China’s ancient wonders, from Beijing, Pingyao and Xi’an to encounters with giant pandas and the sweeping scenery of the Yangtze River.
The journey begins in Beijing, where vast courtyards and ancient stonework set the tone for what lies ahead, before slipping into the quieter rhythm of Pingyao’s preserved streets and the enduring legacy of Xian, home to silent ranks of the Terracotta Army. Further south, the Yangtze River stretches out in shifting light and movement, while time slows briefly for a close encounter with China’s giant pandas. From Shanghai, the land route gives way to sea aboard Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas, carrying the journey across the East China Sea toward Japan. Arrival unfolds along Kyushu’s rugged coastline and harbour towns shaped by water and volcanic land, before continuing across Honshu where layers of old routes and coastal life sit beside one another. The experience resolves in Tokyo, where everything tightens into motion, density and light.
